Sony announced that it will cut 10,000 jobs or roughly 7% of its global workforce, in an effort to restore the company's profitability. The company will also close or sell 11 of its 65 manufacturing plants. Sony shares have lost two-thirds of their value over the last five years, as the company has struggled to keep pace with new developments in portable music and flat-screen televisions. The restructuring follows the appointment in March of Sir Howard Stringer, as the group's first foreign chief executive. - The Economist.

Turns out as the California Governor Schwarzenegger has the authority to veto any bill he wants. I wonder if he'll change the official terminology from veto to terminate.
